Lead Pastor: Brian Thie

Reverend Brian Thie (pronounced Thee), has been serving Oakwood United Methodist Church since June of 2004.  Brian is a native of the Dayton area.  In 1984, he graduated from Miami University with a bachelor’s degree in applied science.  He worked for Elder-Beerman Stores for 14 years in software development.

In April of 1998 Brian felt God calling him into ministry.  He responded to that call by attending seminary at United Theological Seminary, while leading two small churches near Wilmington, Ohio.  In 2002, Brian graduated and entered full time ministry at Hyde Park community UMC, a 3,000 member church in Cincinnati, before coming to Oakwood in 2004.

Brian resides in Oakwood with his wife Laura, and their three teenage children, Kyle, Amy and Amanda.
